Questions on products and formulation
-
Our formulas are 98.5% naturally derived and highly concentrated in essential oils, all of which come from natural sources. Once dissolved in water, the body wash becomes 99% naturally derived. While we strive for natural purity, we include a necessary ingredient to ensure the product’s preservation.
-
Here are our main ingredients (all of natural origin):
- Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate and Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate are gentle surfactants particularly suitable for sensitive skin, providing cleansing and foaming properties.
- Sodium Carboxymethyl Starch adds texture to the cleansing gel, making it easier to use while leaving the skin feeling softer to the touch.
- Maltodextrin offers hydration and protection to the skin while thickening the texture of the cleansing gel.

-
Absolutely. We have taken the precaution of banning the following ingredients from our formulas: sulfates, silicones, phenoxyethanol, formaldehyde releasers, BHA and BHT, parabens, phthalates, phosphates, mineral oils, PEGs, and mercury compounds.
-
None of our products are tested on animals, in compliance with current laws within the European Union. Additionally, our products are not distributed in China.
-
Yes. None of our products contain animal by-products.
-
Our sachet is designed to provide optimal barrier protection. Additionally, the formulation in dry concentrated grains maximizes preservation, unlike traditional products that have often spent several months with the manufacturer and retailers before you purchase them. Once the formula is mixed with water, the cleansing gel can be kept for 6 months.
-
The shower gel comes in a 400ml bottle, with the pump dispensing 2ml per use. For the best experience, simply press three times per shower. This provides 66 daily showers, lasting over two months for one person.
-
Yes, the body wash is safe to be used immediately. But it will reach its optimal consistency after 12 hours, so we recommend to wait - it's worth it.
-
Our natural actives, which contain no harsh synthetic ingredients, can take a few hours to dissolve. The small clusters of crystals you might notice will disappear after a few days. Gently mixing the solution will accelerate this process. In any case, it is perfect to use in the meantime.
-
Absolutely. Before reaching your home, tap water undergoes rigorous treatment processes such as filtration, disinfection (using chlorine, UV, or ozone), and the removal of impurities like bacteria and chemical pollutants. These processes ensure it meets strict safety standards, making it both safe to drink and ideal for bathing.
-
The best way is to fill the empty bottle with water from the tap until the foam disappears from the container

Questions on sustainability and packaging
-
For single-use purposes, we only use carton. Cartons are made from paperboard derived from wood, a renewable resource that does not compete with food feedstocks. The wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests that practice reforestation and maintain biodiversity. Cartons are highly recyclable - the countries where we sell Mircea achieve recycling rates between 80% and 90%, unlike plastic, which is recycled at only 9% worldwide.
In addition to this, we use the first and only range of eco-friendly papers made with organic product waste (Corn, Kiwi, Olive, Almond, etc.), which replaces 15% of virgin wood pulp. They also contain 30% post-consumer recycled fibers.
Paper-based cartons are biodegradable, meaning they decompose naturally over time without leaving harmful residues in the environment. In contrast, plastic takes between 100 and 1,000 years to fragment into nanoplastics and never fully biodegrades.
Cartons have a low carbon footprint. They are made from wood, which absorbs CO2, and their production requires less energy compared to plastics.
The rest of our packaging is designed to be purchased once and used indefinitely, eliminating the need for repeat consumption.
- Our bottle is made of glass and is endlessly refillable.
- The pump is made of durable plastic and built to last for 10,000 uses. Each use dispenses 2ml, meaning the pump is sufficient for 50 body wash refills—equivalent to over 12.5 years of daily use.
-
Plastic pollution is the great challenge of our generation.
Each day, 30,000 tons of plastic end up in the ocean. We find plastic in our soils and our bodies. We ingest 5g of it per week, the equivalent of a credit card. It is even found in breast milk.
Despite scientists documenting the growing environmental, health, and social impacts year after year, nothing seems to slow down plastic production. It is estimated that it will double or even triple by 2050, resulting in 82,000 tons of plastic found in the ocean per day.
Packaging accounts for half of plastic waste.
The industry hides behind recycling. It's a myth. Only 9% of plastics are recycled. As Ms. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, aptly states:“We will not recycle ourway out of the plastic pollution crisis: we need a systemic transformation.90% of packaging for cosmetic products is made of single-use plastic. Almost all luxury cleansing products are made of plastic.
The good news is that cosmetic products are generally made of 85% water. So basically you buy and carry water in a plastic bottle that you then throw away. The idea is to sell only the 15% of actives, and make it so indulging that you wil never come back to the old way.
-
Mircea is committed to using zero single-use plastic. Plastic recycling is a myth—only 9% of plastic gets recycled. This is because it’s far more expensive to sort, clean, and reuse plastic from recycled sources than to produce it from virgin materials. Plastic pouch refills, for example, can make recycling even more challenging, as the reduced material makes the process more costly, further diminishing the chances of it being recycled.
Beyond the pollution, we believe that once the true external costs of plastic—health and environmental damage—are accounted for, plastic will become so expensive that packaging products in it will no longer make sense.
